Stanislaus River

The Stanislaus River from Knights Ferry down is a beautiful, scenic riverway full of a variety of flora and fauna. Be prepared to see a variety of wildlife, including, but not limited to: blue herons, white egrets, river otter, turtles, salmon, bald eagles, turkey vultures, and cliff swallows. You also might see the occasional cow or horse as you drift past farmland! The Stanislaus River is beautiful, and we urge everyone to leave it the way you found it. We offer cleanup trips during Sundays and Wednesdays in season, so if that is something you are interested in, feel free to contact us (via our contact page) and we can give you more info about these free river rafting clean up float trips.

Knights Ferry

Knights Ferry is a small community of around 100 people that is a very popular tourist destination in the summer months. The town popped up during the gold rush, and was originally founded in 1848. Around town you can find plenty of historic sites, including the covered bridge, the old mill, the old post office and jail house, and the historic fire station. Now, the town of Knights Ferry also has an ice cream shop, and the River’s Edge, an American restaurant that you are welcome to explore after your trip and have food and drinks! Trips start at the Knights Ferry Recreation Area, which is a popular spot for picnics and hiking!

Orange Blossom

Orange Blossom Park is the official end point of the Knights Ferry float trip! It is 7 miles downstream of the Knights Ferry put in, and takes groups 3.5 to 5 hours to reach, depending on flow. Orange Blossom is a large park, and a great place to unwind at the end of a day on the water. The river shuttles run out of Orange Blossom Park back to Knights Ferry, and are free to our River Journey customers. There are restrooms and picnic tables at this park.

Oakdale

Oakdale is the nearest, larger town to our trips. Oakdale has a wide-variety of sit down and fast food options, as well as a couple of large grocery stores that are great places to stop pre-trip and load up on water and snacks. Oakdale also has a few hotels in case you want to spend the night in the area after your trip!
