River Journey's Knights Ferry Campground
"Where rafters go to relax!”
This secluded, private campground is located on the river at Russian Rapids and is the only group camping area located in Knights Ferry. It has three group areas which are large enough for groups of 2 to 60 persons. It is available by reservation only to groups rafting with River Journey Adventures. Sorry, no rv parking.
To reserve your space please contact us with your name, contact info, date and number of persons and we will check our availability. We recommend reserving your space well in advance of your trip date.
Camping Rates (Descriptions below):
Site A- $400 per night (fits 35-60) ($7-$12 per person)
Site B- $200 per night (fits 12-34)($7-$20 per person)
Site C- $100 per night (fits 2-11)($9-$50 per person)
Minimum stay of 2 nights is required on weekends in July and August.
Maximum stay is 3 nights unless by special arrangement.
Campsites are located riverside so please use caution and supervise your children at all times! No lifeguard on duty! There are no rv hookups as this is tent camping only.

Driving Directions: Take Hwy 120/108 east to the Knights Ferry exit. Turn left onto Kennedy Road. Go 1/4 mile and turn left on Sonora Road. Cross over the river and turn left at the stop sign onto Main Street. Drive slowly through town and turn left onto Cemetery Road. The SECOND driveway on the left is the River Journey Stanislaus River Campground. Look for the RIVER JOURNEY signs.
Camp Description: Enjoy our riverfront camping area in Knights Ferry, CA. We are within an easy walk to the meeting area for all Stanislaus River Rafting trips.
Group sites have picnic tables and grass areas to put up your tent. Most sites are shaded. Potable water, pit toilets, cool outdoor shower, 1 bbq stand per group area, and overflow parking is available. Bring your own camping equipment or rent at our river store in Knights Ferry. Small briquette barbecues, gas stoves, and lawn chairs are a necessity. Sorry but no wood fires and NO DOGS of any kind allowed!
Site A - Size - 35 to 60 persons. This is our nicest location. It is a private site with a beautiful view of the river. There is also a 1 acre riverfront area attached which allows for day use, for relaxing and riverside recreation. Parking spaces for 10 cars only, extra cars will be charged $5 per day and parked in the overflow area on a limited basis. $400 per night.
Site B - Size- 12 to 34 persons. Located in the center of camp, this site has a nice view of the entrance to "Russian Rapids". Parking spaces for 7 cars only, extra cars will be charged $5 per car and parked in the overflow area on a limited basis. $200 per night.
Site C- Size- 2-11 people. Located at the entrance to the camp, this site has a nice riverfront view. Parking for 2 cars only, extra cars will be charged $5 per car and parked in the overflow area on a limited basis. $100 per night.
Check-in: 3:00PM unless space is available for special arrangement. Call for early check-in. Gate is closed nightly at 10:00PM. Late arrivals will not be allowed in and if you leave you will be locked out unless it is an emergency.
Check-out: 11:00AM unless prior arrangements are made. If space permits may be extended to day use check-out time of 6:00PM.
Vehicles: Each site has limited parking. Extra vehicles may be parked in the overflow parking for $5 per vehicle per night. Except for entry and exit, no operation of motor vehicles, including motorcycles, within the camp. Speed limit is less than 5 miles per hour!
Personal Conduct: We reserve the right to refuse service to persons who act in an unruly or ill-mannered fashion. Anyone who is asked to leave the camping area will not be refunded.
Quiet Hours: Quiet time to be observed between 10:00PM and 7:00AM. THIS IS HIGHLY ENFORCED AND THERE IS NO REFUND IF YOU ARE FORCED TO LEAVE. There are tenants on the property that are not affiliated with the rafting/camping and their property must be respected.
Pets: No pets allowed.
Fires: Due to the dry conditions NO FIRES ARE ALLOWED! You may use briquette BBQ’s and gas BBQ’s only.
Property: Please do not cut plants or flowers, or hang objects from trees. Destruction or defacing picnic tables or buildings, fences or other property is prohibited. Persons responsible will be financially liable.
Trash: Please keep your site clean. Trash and recycle receptacles are available by the restroom and by most campsites. Please keep the lids on to minimize animals getting into them.
Firearms/Fireworks: Any use or display of firearms/fireworks is prohibited.
Children: Parents and guardians are responsible to supervise the conduct of the children.
Reservations: Reservations may be made by telephone or email or online and confirmed by payment. Paid reservations cancelled 2 weeks in advance will be refunded minus a $25 reservation fee. No refunds given after the two week prior notice window.

Great fun and definitely not as crowded as the American River in Sacramento so that's a major plus. Check out River Journey for all rentals http://www.riverjourney.com It's a very chill river and is a great way to spend about 2-3 hours on a hot day for about $20 and comes with a shuttle ride back to your starting point.
